Can Someone Get Out on a Weekend or Holiday?
Yes. Charges with an amount on the bond schedule can be bonded out as soon as booking is done, any day of the year. Orange County Corrections says bail can be posted any time, 24/7. Charges that need a judge wait for the next first appearance hearing, and those run on weekends and court holidays too.
Weekend and Holiday First Appearance Times
- Seminole County: 9:00 a.m. at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility (2:00 p.m. on weekdays). Anyone booked after 2:00 a.m. on a weekend or holiday goes on the next day’s docket.
- Orange County: about 11:30 a.m. at the Booking & Release Center, right after the Osceola video docket (9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. on weekdays).
- Osceola County: 11:00 a.m., by video from the jail (typically 1:30 p.m. on weekdays).
- Volusia County: 8:30 a.m. at the Branch Jail (1:30 p.m. on weekdays).
Upcoming Court Holidays
On these days the weekend schedule applies, so a long weekend can mean several days on holiday timing:
- Veterans Day: Wednesday, November 11, 2026 (all counties).
- Thanksgiving: Thursday and Friday, November 26–27, 2026 (all counties).
- Christmas: Thursday and Friday, December 24–25, 2026 (all counties).
- New Year’s Eve: Thursday, December 31, 2026 (Orange, Osceola and Seminole; Volusia courts are open).
- New Year’s Day: Friday, January 1, 2027 (all counties).
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 18, 2027 (all counties).
The Busiest Nights to Plan Around
The City of Orlando’s late-night rules let the police chief require off-duty officers outside downtown late-night bars every Friday through Sunday night and on five holidays: St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, the Fourth of July, Halloween and New Year’s Eve.
NHTSA’s national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” impaired-driving campaigns run around Labor Day and the winter holidays; the winter 2026 campaign runs December 16, 2026 through January 1, 2027.
Holiday Release Times by Jail
- Orange County: the bond process can take up to 12 hours, with no releases during headcount and meals (about 5:00–7:30 a.m. and p.m.).
- Volusia County: about 2 to 4 hours once paperwork starts, and no releases between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless a responsible person is there to pick them up.
- Osceola County: about 4 to 6 hours after the bond is paid, sometimes longer.
- Seminole County: no official figure; it depends on how busy booking is.
If Someone Is Arrested Tonight
- Get their full legal name and date of birth.
- Find out which county they were arrested in. That decides the jail and the hearing schedule.
- Look them up in that county’s official inmate search, or call us at (407) 321-2663 and we’ll find them.
- Never send money to someone who calls claiming to be the jail. Orange, Osceola and Volusia county jails all say they will not call you asking for bond money.
- If it’s a DUI, note the date: the driver has 10 days to request a review of the license suspension.
- Have a ride ready for release, especially in Volusia County, where there are no releases from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. without someone there to pick them up.
