Question 1

How do bail bonds work in Florida?

Accepted Answer

After an arrest, a judge sets a bail amount at first appearance (usually within 24 hours). You pay a licensed Florida bail bondsman a state-regulated 10% premium of that amount. The bondsman then posts the full bail with the court so the defendant is released while awaiting trial. If the defendant attends every court date, the bond is discharged at the end of the case.

Question 2

How much does a bail bond cost in Florida?

Accepted Answer

Florida law sets the bail bond premium at 10% of the total bail amount, and it is non-refundable. On $5,000 bail the fee is $500. Coach Franklin Bail Bonds offers payment plans and low down payments so families do not have to pay the full 10% up front.

Question 3

Can I get a bail bond with no money down?

Accepted Answer

On approved credit and with a qualified cosigner, we can start bonds with a low down payment and finance the balance. Call (407) 321-2663 to see what your specific situation qualifies for.

Question 4

Can you bail yourself out of jail in Florida?

Accepted Answer

Technically yes if you have the full cash bail on you at booking, but almost no one does. In practice a family member or friend contacts a bondsman for you. Read our full guide: Can You Bail Yourself Out of Jail in Florida.

Question 5

What is a bail bond cosigner (indemnitor)?

Accepted Answer

A cosigner is a Florida resident with steady income who signs for the bond and agrees to be financially responsible if the defendant fails to appear in court. Their job is to help make sure the defendant shows up. See our cosigner responsibilities guide.

Question 6

How long does it take to get out of jail after posting bond in Florida?
