      Scam alert

The jail will never call you for money

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office warns residents about scammers who reach out by phone, text and email and demand payment by gift card, cryptocurrency or cash app. The Orange, Osceola and Volusia county jails also say they will not call you asking for bond money.

      • You owe unpaid fines or fees
      • You missed jury duty
      • An inmate needs money to be released

How to know it’s really us

      • A bail bondsman does charge a fee: the premium, set at 10% of the bond with a $100 minimum. The jail and the sheriff never collect it by phone.
      • Call us yourself at (407) 321-2663. Don’t call back a number that texted or called you.
      • We take cash, credit cards, certified checks and money orders. We never ask for gift cards or cryptocurrency.
      • Check any bondsman’s license with the Florida Department of Financial Services.
